Install VirtualBox Guest Additions for better performance and easier management of the Host and Client computers. Windows 8 got rid of the traditional Start menu and this version of Linux makes it a point to have one. Notice the Start menu looks a lot like Windows 7. The install is essentially the same as installing Ubuntu Linux.Īfter rebooting, you’re presented with the Zorin desktop. While Zorin is installing on the VM, you can flip through the screens to see all it has to offer. Since I’m setting this up on a VM, select Start the Installer Directly.

For Installation Media, select the Zorin ISO file you just downloaded and click Next. The first time you power up the new VM, the First Run Wizard starts. I’m using the latest version of Oracle’s VirtualBox. While it’s downloading, set up a Linux virtual machine (VM). Since I am just testing it for the first time, the 32-bit version will be fine. The ISO file is just over 1 GB, and it’s recommended to download it using Firefox. Install Zorin OSįirst download the 32 or 64-bit version of Zorin.
